Water jug Emergency Information

 Billings
 
Water Billings are done quarterly. Utility accounts for Rhineland and Gretna are due January 31, April 30, July 31, October 31.
 
Penalties apply starting the first of the month after the due date at 1.25% per month.
 
Allow 2-3 business days for online payments to process.  Cheques must be received before the close of the office on the due date.
   
If you are a tenant, the owner of the property as well as yourself will be sent a copy of the water bill.    
If you are moving, the water meter must be read by yourself as well as the new owner or tenant and submitted to the Municipality with forwarding contact information. A final water bill will be forwarded to you. There are penalties charged for late payments of 1.25% per month.
 
These penalties are applied to the water account the following business day. After 90 days, the overdue amounts, including penalties, will be applied to the Property taxes.
 
We now offer E-Billing for Utilities only. If you wish to have this service, please contact our office requesting your Utility bill by email

Payment Options
The Municipality of Rhineland accepts payments in person, (cash, debit or cheque only) by mail including post-dated cheques, TelPay or on-line through your financial institution. To use TelPay or the on-line banking contact your financial institution to set up your account. Please include the portion of your bill with the account number if you are mailing in cheques to ensure that the proper account is credited. We do NOT accept Credit Card payments. 
  
Meters
The meters that are used are electronic meters that can be read manually or using an electronic hand-held meter reader. All properties require a change of meter if requested by the Municipality.
